Advert to fill Casual Vacancy WPC 4.1.18

Notice is hereby given that by reason of the resignation of a Councillor a vacancy has occurred among the members of the Coalpit Heath ward of Westerleigh Parish Council.

Any person wishing to find out more or willing to fill this vacancy should apply to the Clerk at westerleighpc@gmail before 28th February  2017.

The applicant’s name must appear on the current electoral register or the applicant should, during the whole of the twelve months preceding the relevant date, resided in or within three miles of the parish, or the applicant’s only place of work during the whole of the twelve months, preceding the relevant date, must be in the Parish.  The applicant must also not be debarred from standing as a Parish Councillor. 

Public elections cannot be held until May 2019, but for the interim period election to the aforesaid Council will be voted for by the present sitting number of Councillors.

Parish Councillors are elected to serve for a four year terms of office. They must adhere to a code of conduct, follow prescribed procedures and declare any interests that might be considered as rendering them partial in any Council matter.

The position is unpaid.

Westerleigh Parish Council comprises  2 wards, Coalpit Heath Ward with 7 serving councillors and Westerleigh Ward with 2 serving councillors.
