The Role of the Parish Council in Planning Applications
South Gloucestershire Council automatically sends the Parish council a copy of all planning applications within the Parish for comment, with all applications being available for inspection at http://www.southglos.gov.uk/environment-and-planning/planning/planning-applications-planning/.
All such applications are considered and commented on at the next available Parish Council meeting, the response being sent to South Gloucestershire Council’s Planning Department within the statutory 21 days. They in turn will consider the Parish Council’s comments (along with all other comments submitted) when determining the application. The Parish Council is advised of the decision ie. refusal, approval or approval with conditions. All decisions can be viewed at the above South Gloucestershire Council website.
