South Gloucestershire, Bristol and North Somerset has been put into Tier 3 of the Coronavirus restrictions.
This is not an easy decision but has been made according to the best clinical advice and the criteria set out in the Covid-19 Winter Plan.
The decision has been made by looking at 5 key indicators:
Case detection rates in all age groups
Case detection rates in the over 60s
The rate at which cases are rising or falling
The positivity rate – the number of positive cases detected as a percentage of tests taken
Pressure on the NHS, including current and projected occupancy
This will be reviewed every 14 days.
