Westerleigh Parish Local Nature Action Plan
Parish Councils, in partnership with South Gloucestershire Council, have recognised the importance of taking steps to address the ecological crisis.
The West of England Nature Partnership (WENP) is a partnership between Bristol City, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and Bath & North East Somerset working to restore the natural environment in the West of England. WENP is establishing a Nature Recovery Network as a joined up network of marine, water and terrestrial habitats where nature and people can thrive. It has identified 3 opportunities for improving the connectivity of woodland and grassland in Westerleigh Parish (https://www.wenp.org.uk/nature-recovery-network/).
Westerleigh Parish Council is drawing up a Local Nature Action Plan in order for us to take the necessary steps to stop the decline of biodiversity.
The action plan is led by the Parish Council with support from:
Matthew Lipton – SG Council Commons and Biodiversity Manager.
We would welcome involvement of local individuals, landowners and organisations – please get in touch with your ideas.
